Jewelry Care Instructions
At BI Jewels, every piece is crafted to be treasured for years to come. With a little care, your jewelry will continue to sparkle and shine. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your pieces looking their best.
Daily Wear Tips
Put your jewelry on last when getting ready — after applying perfume, lotion, hairspray, and makeup. Chemicals in these products can dull the finish and affect the longevity of your pieces. Remove jewelry first before washing your hands, showering, or going to bed.
Cleaning Your Jewelry
After each wear, gently wipe your pieces with a soft, dry cloth to remove oils and residue. For a deeper clean, use a soft-bristled toothbrush with mild soapy water and gently scrub, then rinse and pat dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, bleach, or abrasive materials.
What to Avoid
- Chlorine and salt water — remove all jewelry before swimming, hot tubs, or the beach
- Household cleaners, bleach, and harsh chemicals
- Wearing jewelry during workouts, manual labor, or contact sports
- Exposing pieces to extreme heat or direct sunlight for extended periods
- Applying lotions, perfumes, or oils while wearing your jewelry
Storing Your Jewelry
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or a fabric-lined jewelry box to prevent scratching and tangling. Keep jewelry in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Necklaces should be hung or laid flat to avoid knotting. Avoid storing multiple pieces loosely together.
Bangles & Bracelets
Bangles and bracelets are prone to surface scratches when stacked. To minimize wear, avoid stacking metal pieces against each other without a protective layer. Remove bangles before any activity involving impact or pressure on the wrist.
Earrings
Clean earring posts and backs regularly with a soft cloth. Avoid wearing earrings in water. Store earrings in pairs in individual compartments or pouches to prevent posts from bending or stones from chipping.
